MY STORY
Hi, my name is LaThania! I was born in Tennessee but raised in sunny San Diego, CA. I grew up in church and have loved Jesus since I can remember. I always knew God had big plans for me but as a teenager I was one foot in one foot out, trying to figure out who God is, who I am, and what it means to live in wholehearted surrender.
I was fresh out of high school when my plans to be the next Beyoncé quickly crashed and burned (shout out to God). It was at that time that I decided I was done trying to do things my way. I literally wanted Jesus to take the wheel as I went along for the ride. A year later, I started my journey in missions.

MY MISSION
My mission is to empower and challenge young people to embrace their true identity through love and discipleship. I want teenagers to know Jesus! Everything I do is to fulfill this mission. I am currently on staff with a grassroots movement called Circuit Riders. Our mission is to see the lost saved, the saved revived in their relationship with Christ, and to train them all to live activated lives! We want to see revival in America, starting with university and high school students. In addition to our Carry the Love tour that reaches over 200+ campuses in America and Europe, I am serving the Black Voices Movement which was birthed in Circuit Riders during 2021. Our mission is to gather and empower young Black leaders into their Christ-centered calling, expression and purpose. Less than 1% of missionaries on the field are Black, and we know that for every nation, tribe, and tongue to be reached with the gospel it will take everyone from everywhere. God has invited us to lay down our purposes to take up His, and we are extending that invitation to all of our Black brothers and sisters. MY WHY
You may ask yourself, but why missions? And why missions in America? Simply put, because the youth of America need to know Jesus as their living savior! My generation, Gen Z, struggles with many things. To name a few - identity, mental illness and suicide, and the constant search for truth are pressing matters for young people. I know and have experienced the answer to these struggles; it's Jesus! Only 3-5% of students on college campuses are involved with an on campus ministry. That means anywhere from 95% or more of students are wandering around looking for life and purpose outside of Jesus! I want the youth to know they don't have to wait until they are older to find Jesus. They don't have to hit rock bottom and then come crawling back to God. He loves them now, and wants to have a relationship with them now. Each one of them has access to the power that breaks every chain and rose Christ from the dead, all they have to do is receive it. Know the truth, and it will set them free. That is why I've given my life to missions, to empower the youth to embrace their true identity as children of God. Starting here in the US of A.
